Job Title: Environment and energy manager
Jude “grew up” on landfill sites starting her career as an environment manager for a large waste company; managing environmental aspects for numerous sites, running a team of environmental scientists and early waste-to-energy schemes. Jude then worked for the Carbon Trust, managing a £35 million Energy Efficient Loan Scheme, to support and fund energy saving projects. She then moved to a more hands-on position as the energy manager, at NIBSC: a large scientific Government Research Institute, where she started from scratch on reducing their carbon impact. Jude has achieved numerous headline carbon reduction figures and stand-out results include a 21% carbon footprint reduction: 14 % electricity consumption reduction, 20 % gas consumption reduction and £963k cost-savings on utilities. The culmination of Jude’s successes has recently been recognised by receiving the edie Energy Institutes Energy Manager of the Year 2016 Award which is a great accolade for her career in energy management.
