Woodland Trust

We are the Woodland Trust

We are the Woodland Trust, the UK’s largest woodland conservation charity and we’re here to stand up for woods and trees.

Trees are essential for life, cleaning our air, cooling our cities and fighting back against climate change.  They provide homes and food for wildlife and inspire us to get outdoors and explore nature.

We all need trees, but they need us too

As well as owning and caring for an estate of 1,000 free public woods in the UK, we fight for their future by campaigning to save threatened woodland, restoring damaged woods and getting millions of new trees in the ground.

Let’s get together

We can help you achieve your sustainable development goals. Think globally. Act locally.

By supporting us you can enhance your brand while making a lasting, positive impact on the UK’s environment and valuable landscapes.

Together we can improve air, water and soil quality, battle land erosion, mitigate carbon, fight climate change and increase biodiversity. We even offer carbon mitigation opportunities

Energy Saving Trust

The Energy Saving Trust (EST) is a leading and trusted organisation helping people save energy every day. Our experts speak with millions of householders every year, deliver first class programmes for governments and provide consultancy to UK businesses and international companies. All that we do is underpinned by our pioneering world-renowned research.

Three of our current projects are aimed at retailers. Under the Digilabel project, we have produced the PocketWatt tool – this gives consumers access to a wealth of energy information about appliances, including lifetime running costs at point of sale, instore and online. We encourage participation from retailers to further deploy the tool and help consumers make energy-smart purchase decisions.

Appliances, lighting and electronics have become much more efficient over the past decade – Topten UK is part of a global network that assesses market developments and data for these product types and presents the most energy-efficient ones in an easy-to-use web portal.  The project is seeking partner retailers to enable users to easily purchase an efficient model featured on Topten UK, which also acts as a useful procurement tool for vendors keen to stock an efficient product range.

Premium Light Pro looks to engage the non-domestic sector to increase the take-up of efficient, high quality LED lighting. On average, around 25% of an organisation’s electricity costs come from lighting, but with a typical payback time of less than two years, there is a compelling business case for upgrading to LED, which can reduce lighting energy costs by up to 80%. However, many organisations lack the resource to implement such a project. As the UK partner in this pan-EU project, EST is providing support services to businesses and the public sector such as training courses, product criteria and a database, and guidance on procurement and funding.
