Job Title: Chartered chemical engineer
Matt is a chartered chemical engineer. He has been leading GSK’s Global Environmental Sustainability and Reporting Centre of Excellence since 2014. Matt is responsible for GSK’s sustainability strategy, which aims to reduce environmental impacts across the value chain, while extending global access to GSK’s products. The strategy focuses on minimising GSK’s carbon footprint, reducing local water impacts and cutting operational waste. This is particularly important to GSK as a global healthcare company since environmental challenges like climate change are exacerbating health issues. Under Matt’s leadership, GSK’s approach has received external recognition, such as being awarded an A-grade in CDP’s climate change and water programmes.
